The only problem for the pursuer, Fist Labrau, there is a row of high rugged mountains with no pass to provide a way to catch the man before he dissolves into oblivion.

However, Fist confides in an old sage that tells him about the rumors of a secret pass named Iskrel. Fists sidekick and travelling companion Iryl is skeptical. Following the clues given, Fist leaves Thuron across the barbarian infested dessert hoping the little known legend is true. Together, Fist and Iryl find perilous barbarians and precipitous moments on jagged mountains and inside ancient halls of ice folk. Will they find a pass still exists or will it prove to be a mere myth? Can they survive the perils that await them and continue their search for Rurgan?
